NEWS: The Winter 2013 Issue of Academic Exchange Quarterly is now accepting submissions for its special section on Writing Center Theory and Practice.

Articles between 2,000 and 3,000 words may explore issues of theory, practice, and experience in writing center work, including qualitative and empirical studies and discussions of pedagogy.

Writing Center Directors and other administrators, professional staff, faculty tutors, and graduate students who work in the writing center can submit texts. Submissions must be identified with the keyword “Center-2.”

Submissions will be accepted until the end of August; however, early submissions are encouraged.

Applications are being accepted for three new postgraduate courses offered by the Centre for Academic Writing, Coventry University
from Autumn 2012:
*MA in Academic Writing Theory and Practice
*Postgraduate Diploma in Academic Writing Theory and Practice
*Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Writing Development

The courses are being offered in both a full-time 'on-campus' mode and a part-time 'blended-learning' mode.
It is also possible to enrol in most of the modules on a stand-alone basis.

History: The decision for publication was taken by EARLI’s Special Interest Group on Writing in 2007. Luuk van Waes, Gert Rijlaarsdam & Denis Alamargot, started the preparations for the journal in October 2007. Marie-Francoise Crété ( Poitiers ) and Mariëlle Leijten (Antwerp/ Stafford) will assist the editors.
